If you run a pizza restaurant, you make your living on well … selling delicious pizza.  It’s your main draw and what you’re most likely known for. But some of the best deli sandwiches we have ever tasted have been at our favorite pizza joints.

There is really nothing like a lush, meaty hero sandwich on fresh-baked sourdough, Dutch Crunch, or your choice of bread.  Sub sandwiches are as much an old and valued standby at pizza places as pepperoni pizza, and you should consider putting as much love and care into making your heroes as you do your signature pies. ‘Messy good’: Carl’s tests Pepperoni Pizza Fries

Just when you thought there was absolutely nothing new to do with a French fry – along come Pepperoni Pizza Fries.

Behind them: The we’ll-try-just-about-anything fast-food chain Carl’s Jr., which has just begun testing them in about a dozen of its restaurants in Southern California – mostly in the Anaheim area.

“It may look like a mess — but it’s messy good,” says Brad Haley, chief marketing officer at Carl’s. Customers have compared the taste, he says, to pizza with a French fry crust. (more…)

As you scroll down the 800 Degrees website, you have many choices: Choose a Crust, Choose a Base and then come the Add-Ons. You want Neapolitan crust or Gluten-free?  You want a White Pie (Bianca), a Green Pie (Verde), a Marinara or a Margherita?

The Add-Ons are almost too many to mention delineated by Protein, Vegetables and Cheeses. This is definitely not your Uncle Tony’s pizza joint. (more…)
