Liguria Foods Hires Southeastern Business Development Manager

Liguria Foods, the country’s premier pepperoni and dried sausage manufacturer, is pleased to announce the addition of Kathy Gilde to the staff. Kathy will cover the Southeastern U.S. as the Business Development Manager.

“We’re thrilled to have Kathy on our sales team at Liguria Foods. She will be an integral part of our next stage growth.  Kathy will be based in the Southeast but also has a host of national account skills that we will leverage,” said Mark Majewski, Liguria’s Senior Vice President and General Manager.

Kathy has spent more than 25 years in foodservice sales, most recently in the international arena for Cheney Brothers. “I am looking forward to bringing all my experience and long-time relationships with national accounts. In addition, I pride myself in my ability to open up new accounts,” Kathy said.

Kathy began her sales career at Hillshire Farms, where she increased her sales territory five-fold. She was promoted to the Sara Lee Meat Group where she worked closely with R&D department to develop new products. Her next position was as the Regional Sales manager at Stockpot and Campbell’s where she focused on developing private label product sales.

Kathy also held national account sales manager positions at Culinary Standards, HIghliner Foods, CMI Food Solutions and Unilever, where she worked closely with corporate chefs and R&D to develop new product innovations. Her most recent position at Cheney Brothers was in international export sales, where she worked with customers in more than 100 countries.

Liguria Foods Hires Upper Midwest Regional Manager

Liguria Foods, the country’s premier pepperoni and dried sausage manufacturer, is pleased to announce the addition of Pete Hahn to the staff. Pete will cover the Upper Midwest region as the Regional Manager.

Pete began his selling career in 1994 and has successfully sold for multiple companies in the food industry. His career has spanned sales for dairy proteins, specialty ingredients, frozen prepared foods, soups, sauces and pizza.

Peter has sold in the retail, industrial ingredient and foodservice arenas. He is happy to return to foodservice in his role at Liguria Foods. “Foodservice operators are entrepreneurs, I enjoy working closely with them as I can help make a one-to-one difference for a person that is building their own business. Ingredients sales are interesting and technical, but at the end of the day, I’m selling function and food cost, pizza operators are creating art and business success.”

Pete has a BS in Geology and an MBA in Marketing. He earned both degrees at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Peter was a Naval Flight Officer in the United States Marine Corps where he earned the rank of Captain during a seven-year active duty career.

“The response from customers has been very positive,” said Mark Majewski, Liguria’s General Manager.  “Selling premium products requires knowledge and passion. Pete is passionate about our business and loves to get in front of customers and teach them how to make more money by investing a little more in quality and earning the opportunity to sell for higher prices as a result.”

Pete enjoys hunting, fishing and boating. He has one son, who is 19 years old. Liguria Foods is thrilled to have Pete and hope both old and new customers enjoy his positive attitude.

Philip brings a long history in the food industry: More than 18 years in retail and another dozen in foodservice. His experience includes more than 10 years with Performance Food Group as an Area Sales Representative and more recently as Vice President of Sales, managing 28 foodservice territories in the Southeast. Liguria Foods to Give Away 1,500 lbs. of Pepperoni at Pizza Expo

Humboldt, IA – February 29, 2016 – As part of major promotion to showcase its premier pepperoni, Liguria Foods is giving away 500 pounds of pepperoni every day at the annual Pizza Expo in Las Vegas.  To have the chance to win the quarter ton of pepperoni each day, pizzeria operators and owners will just have to visit the Liguria Foods booth and sign up for the company newsletter.
